Practice music video review

Yesterday night I attended a professional music video shoot. My friends are video directors for GRM Daily and Link up TV and they allowed me to come to a music video shoot to get some experience for my coursework. It was really good for experience, I was allowed to make stills (photography) and got to handle the camera when recording. I used a Nikon D3300 for stills and a cannon 5500 to record.

Lesson update

In today's lesson me and my partner discussed on what genre we should do for our music video. we decided with hip hop/ rap and went with a up an coming popular artiste from east london called Yxng Bane. We decided to create a music video for his shong 'Sholud.ve known better'. we are currently on the process of making a treatment pitch for our class so everyone has and idea as to why we chose this song and what we intend to do for the music video.

In today's lesson me and my partner have started our song choosing process. we have both agreed on the hip hop/ rap genre. we are looking at artists such as; Zie Zie, Yxng Bane and an up and coming artist called Dradar. we will start drafting ideas for the music videos by the end of tomorrow's lesson.

This isn't the full version of the music video but however it's majority of it, i did get to play around with the editing software showing me different types of edits, for some things like the screen shake effect i used i had to you YouTube because i needed to know how to do it myself step by step. 

Tion Wayne - Grind don't stop Camera work

I Had previously done some work with the Canon DSLR Cameras for the Harlem Spartan Teaser i made in my A2 pre-production. but this week I got a real taster as to what real shooting will be like and how i will be setting up to record for my actual course work. For example when i had previously worked with the DSLR Cameras I only got the basic hand downs for the cameras, but now I know how to change the white balance and adjust the shutter speed. this was essential for filming as the brightness can affect how the video looks.

Camera Recap 

In today's lesson we did a quick camera recap remembering how to us the Canon DSLR cameras. i used a variety of camera angles and different shots. Because today was a bright day it was good to fiddle with the camera aperture and control the amount of light exposure we let into the lense. we also controlled the white balance to change the temperature on the shot. After today i feel much more confident in using the DSLR camera.
